Truck Delivery Acceptance and Guidelines

Before the Truck Arrives

Ensure someone authorized is available to receive the shipment
Have a phone or camera ready for photos
Clear space for unloading and inspection

At Truck Arrival

Verify the carrier / trucking company name
Confirm shipment matches your order number
Check pallet count and packaging quantity

Outer Packaging Inspection

Check cartons, pallets, or crates for visible damage
Look for crushed corners, broken pallets, torn wrap, or water exposure
Take photos of all sides of the shipment before unloading

Product Inspection (Before Signing)

Open packaging carefully while the driver is present
Inspect salt products for cracks, breakage, or crushing
Identify whether damage is minor (chips) or severe (unusable)

If Damage Is Found

Take clear photos of:

  • Damaged product
  • Inner packaging
  • Outer packaging
  • Shipping label

Write damage details on the delivery receipt (POD)
Sign as Received with Damage
Keep all packaging materials

Never sign as “Received in Good Condition” if damage is visible

If No Damage Is Found

Take a quick photo of the intact shipment (recommended)
Sign the delivery receipt as Received in Good Condition

After Delivery

Save the delivery receipt / POD
Store products in a dry, stable area
Report hidden damage (if any) within 48 hours

Damage Claim Reminder

  • Claims must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery
  • Delivery receipt notation is mandatory for visible damage
  • Photo evidence is required for all claims
